Saype joins SAPP
Self-taught, he is now known for his three-dimensional studio paintings (canvas and plexiglass) but also for his grass paintings, made with 100% biodegradable paint.
Certainly one of the most widely publicized artists in 2019, he was named by the famous magazine Forbes as one of the thirty most influential figures in the world in the field of art and culture under the age of thirty.
A pioneer in the field of grass painting, between land art (a contemporary art movement using the frame and materials of nature) and graffiti, he has been creating gigantic ephemeral faces in the heart of nature since 2013. Its paint, 100% biodegradable, is composed of water, Meudon white, coal and casein.
The ephemeral work evolves according to the weather, the regrowth of the grass, the passage of visitors. For about a month, the landscapes are highlighted before disappearing without leaving a trace.
His first work in the wilderness was created in 2015 in the French Alps. It was then the largest fresco (1,400 m2) on grass in the world.
Between physical, logistical and technical challenge, the artist expresses man's "humility" in the face of the world and nature.
